Are you somewhere between an organic juice cleanse and polishing off a jar of Nutella ?? Well, what if I said you could whip up a gluten, dairy and refined sugar free CHOCOLATE that will not only satisfy your sweet tooth but is packed with superfood goodness. And the best part is it’s quick and SO easy to make. Yep, healthy chocolate you can whip up in three minutes (plus chilling time) with three base ingredients. Archie and I make this a couple of times a week and we LOVE it!!
1/2 cup Coconut Oil (soft, butter consistency)
1/2 cup Raw Cacao Powder
3 tablespoons of Honey or Maple Syrup or Rice Malt Syrup
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract and a pinch of Himalayan Rock Salt (optional)
Gently melt coconut oil on a low heat if hard or use straight from jar if soft. Stir in Cacao powder, sweetener and vanilla extract. pour a thin layer into a glass dish or pliable tray. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour or freeze for 20 minutes.
Flavour the chocolate by adding optional extras after mixing base ingredients- orange zest, peanut ot almond butter, chopped nuts, shredded coconut. You can also simply half the recipe for smaller serving.
Coconut Oil- boosts metabolism, supports immunity, stops sugar cravings and it’s antibacterial properties can kill microorganisms and fight infection.
Cacao Powder – has the highest antioxidant value than any food in the world. It’s found to regulate cholesterol, blood pressure and boost immunity and is a great source of Magnesium and zinc and is even said to help shed fat!
